Naeem Farooqi is Wood's Global Technical Director of Zero-Emission Mobility. His expertise spans across organisational performance benchmarks, accessibility design and compliance, supply chain and goods movement, procurement, fleet and rolling stock decarbonization and emissions optimization, technology feasibility analysis, project development and strategy execution within various transit functions.
Naeem is known for solving complex transit challenges with innovative solutions and has worked on transit and asset management projects across the globe including Canada, USA, Peru, Bulgaria, Saudi Arabia, and Ivory Coast. Over the course of his career, Naeem has advised on over $30B (CAD) of combined fleet, rolling stock and facilities assets.
Naeem is currently completing a PhD in vehicle lifecycle and maintenance reliability modelling in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto. His research is at the forefront of examining reliability, lifecycle costing, and the various propulsion impact for different return to base transit fleets and rolling stock. Naeem in his personal time gives back through Humanity First ShelterBus, the first re-purpose bus to serve the homeless population of Toronto in Canada.

Mobility represents 25% of the global GHG emissions. A large portion of this is from fleet operations such as public transit, school buses, taxi, and Long-haul. At Wood we have worked with various fleet managers and senior leadership in public and private organizations to help them develop a fleet transition plan. As part of this presentation Wood will walk through its process of helping fleets decarbonize with case studies of a school bus fleet, and transit fleet. This will help establish an understanding and the various areas of impact as fleets look to transition from vehicles, facility, infrastructure, staff, and environment.
