Nicholas Johnson is a repeat entrepreneur focused on innovation in the energy sector and electric vehicle markets. He started working in the electric vehicle industry by pioneering electrical designs for Tesla on the Model 3. After owning an EV and experiencing the difficulties of bringing charging into an apartment community he worked with original Tesla co-founders Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning, as well as, Nobel Prize winner Sven Thesen to found Orange, an electric vehicle charging solution specifically designed for apartments and condos. Today, Orange is helping apartment communities of all sizes bring affordable, scalable, and equitable electric vehicle charging solutions on-site to allow for the wide-scale adoption of electric vehicles.

This session will explore how existing programs designed to advance the uptake and utilization of charging in the workplace, multi-family, and along charging corridors can be designed with an equity lens while also meeting the requirements defined by program administrators.
