Installing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations is becoming more common for private businesses and franchises. When retrofitting EV charging stations onto an existing business, precautions must be taken to protect the existing utility infrastructure from damaging strikes. GPRS uses ground penetrating radar to scan for subsurface utilities and obstructions to prevent costly strikes, saving clients time and money. During this presentation, we’ll discuss 3rd party data related to utility strike damage and outline the Subsurface Investigation Methodology (simspec.org) that would standardize the utility locating industry.
