Ryan Cryar is a cybersecurity researcher at NREL, where he leads numerous research efforts to help secure the grid. Ryan’s research focus is on the cybersecurity of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, spanning areas such as cryptography, standardization, threat research, and penetration testing. Ryan has authored numerous technical papers and standards such as UL2941, IEEE1547.3, and is working on the revision to IEEE 1547. Ryan has a background in applied math, cryptography, and computer science.
