Workshop J: Essential Electrical Code Considerations in Commercial and Residential Installations

The session will cover electrical code challenges in both commercial and residential installations. Speaker Marty Schumacher will use specific case studies showing common violations and overcoming challenges and interpretations with the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ), such as load calculations, disconnect rules, UL Standards, parking lots, GFCI requirements, installation instructions, and other common installation rules. Marty will also discuss certain State EV mandates, such as California, Maryland, and other jurisdictions throughout the country. 

Marty serves on UL's EV Technical Panel, UL2231, and has performed hundreds of electrical inspections for EVs for local, state, and federal installations.
