AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials)

Mr. Rodriguez joined the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) as Program Director for Environment in October 2022. He manages the Committee on Environment and Sustainability and the Committee on Transportation System Security and Resilience, addressing topics like air quality, climate change, decarbonization, permitting, stormwater management, NEPA, hazardous waste, risk and resilience, and emergency response.

As Director of AASHTO’s Center for Environmental Excellence, established with the Federal Highway Administration, he promotes environmental stewardship and innovative transportation project delivery. The Center offers technical assistance, training, information exchange, partnership-building, and access to environmental tools.

Previously, Mr. Rodriguez spent 11 years with the DC Department of Energy and Environment, most recently as Associate Director for Inspection and Enforcement. He also worked for 10 years as an environmental consultant with AECOM, serving clients in various industries.

Mr. Rodriguez holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth, TX.
