Easing the Transition: Evolving Codes, Regulations, and AHJs
This panel will cover what you need to know about residential charging issues, public charging rules, energization, and interconnected policy. Topics include:
Residential charging:
- EV-ready building codes: the national IECC building codes and state requirements survey.
- Right-to-charge laws: this is a suite of laws that deal with multi-unit dwellings and condo associations and allow residents to install EV chargers if they wish.
Public charging:
- Permitting and zoning rules around getting DCFC stations installed, dealing with local rules and municipalities
Energization and interconnection policy:
- Several states are attempting to put new policies in place to limit the timeline between a utility service request and its being fulfilled.
